Outdoor

Introduction

The Outdoor subclass for the Chef class embodies the rugged resilience and survival instincts honed in the wilderness. These chefs are not only masters of culinary arts but also stalwart defenders, using their cooking skills to bolster defenses and protect their allies.

Cast Iron Defense

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, your time in the wilderness has hardened not only you but also your cooking. When you would deal your Deep Fry damage, you can reduce the dice to add on a different effect. You can only choose one of these effects per Turn.

Smokey Goodness: Reduce 1 dice, each creature of your choice within 10ft of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they must move within 5ft of you at the start of their next Turn.

Hard Work: Reduce 2 dice, roll 2d4 and add that to your Armor Class until the start of your next Turn.

Beast Submission: Reduce 3 dice, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you for a number of hours equal to your Intelligence Modifier or until it takes damage from you or an ally.

Thick Skin: Reduce 4 dice, you gain resistance until the end of your next turn from a damage type of your choice that was dealt to you by the target.

Line Hook: Reduce 5 dice, target creature must make a Strength saving throw. On a failure, you grapple the target and can move them up to your movement speed.

Tough Meat: Reduce 6 dice, if you would fall to 0 hit points and roll death saving throws, you can add your Intelligence modifier on your next 3 death saving throws.

Iron Stomach

At 6th level, your resilience is unmatched. When you take bludgeoning, slashing or piercing damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your Deep Fry dice. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once) and regain all uses after a long rest.

Campfire Comfort

When you reach 10th level, you can create a comforting campfire that protects everyone within it who eats your food. Each creature within 30ft of your campfire that eats your food gains a bonus to their saving throws and Perception checks equal to your Intelligence modifier. The campfire lasts for 8 hours.

Unbreakable Chef

When you reach 14th level, your cooking has reached its survivalist peak. Over a Short Rest, you can create a number of meals equal to your Intelligence Modifier that lasts until you finish a Long Rest. You cant do this again until you finish a Long Rest. A creature can use its Bonus Action to consume one of these meals to gain its effects for 1 hour. A creature can only benefit from this effect once per day while you can benefit from this effect twice per day.

A creature that consumes this food has the following effect. When you fall to 0 or below hit points, you immediately gain hit points equal to a roll of the Chefs Deep Fry dice.
