Crafting

Crafting

Crafting is an essential part of the Star Wars universe giving to new ideas and inventing new items. Crafting is considered a skill and as such can be taken if you have a choice in profiency, but the difference being you can only be profiecent in a number of crafting classes determined by your Intelligence modifier at the start of character creation. After which the only way to become profiecient in another crafting class is to take a special feat or to learn it (though you still cant exceed your Intelligence Modifier). You must spend 8 hours of downtime per day when crafting and you can only craft a maximum of 8 hours a day and only on one item. You must have an adaquate work space and a work bench when crafting. These can be found in numorous parts of a city, can be bought and/or installed in a house or ship. Crafting requires 3 things to get started.

  • Scrap/Chemicals
  • Specified Materials
  • Blueprints

Scrap/Chemicals

Scrap and Checmicals are used as the base component for crafting items and can be found by breaking down items that you have. When you do you must spend 10 minutes breaking down an item for which you gain 2d6 pieces of scrap. If the item is broken or damaged in any way you recieve half the amount. Chemicals can be found by breaking down medical supplies.

Scrap/chemicals can be purchased at a base value of 15cr. The amount of scrap/chemicals needed depends on the number of dice it deals in damage or the bonus it applies. ex. blaster pistol has 1 damage die so it takes 1 scrap to build it. Blast armor has an AC of 11 which is 1 higher then 10 so it requires 1 scrap.

Specified Material

Specified Materials are things that are listed in the blueprints that are required to make the item. Most of these are likely found at a vendor or sold on the black market for much more. This cost is 1/4 of what the total price of the item you are trying to make.

Blueprints

Blueprints are the layout and design of the item you are trying to craft which will list the number of scraps you need and what Specified Materials you need to complete the item. Blueprints come in three different rarities, which are listed below:

  • Normal-Is anything that is on the adventuring/equipment/medical page. Cost 100c
  • Premium-The base of crafting items though better then regular items. Cost 500cr
  • Prototype-A more detailed layout providing a better outcome. Cost 5000cr
  • Artifact-Rarely found and tough to understand only the smartest are capable of understanding. Cost 20000cr

Reverse Engineering can be done with any Premium or above item. This lets you create your own blueprint of the item for future crafting and modification. When Reverse Engineering you have a small chance to create a blueprint of a higher level. The table below shows the requirements for blueprints and Reverse Engineering.

Crafting Classes

Armormech

Armormech is the ability to work with hard metals, alloys and synthetic materials to construct armor for non-Force users. Armormechs can craft light, medium and heavy armor.

Armstech

Armstech is the ability to work with hard metals, alloys and synthetic materials to craft blasters and melee weapons. Crafted blasters include blaster pistols, blaster rifles, sniper rifles and shotguns. Melee weapons include vibroblades and electrostaves.

Biochem

Biochem is the skill involved in crafting medical supplies, performance-enhancing chemical serums and biological implants. Biochemists can create medpacs to restore health, stimulants (single-use injections) that provide a boost to physical abilities, and biological implants that enhance combat prowess by stimulating neural networks and regulating brain stem functions.

Cybertech

Cybertech is the skill to assemble droid armor, earpieces, implants, grenades, and energy shields,

Synthweaving

Synthweaving is the process of fabricating synthetic materials out of crystals, various chemicals and artifact fragments to construct armor for Force users.
