Monk

Way of the Ice Dragun

Whistling Crystals

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can create deadly sharp ice crystals just by concentrating and whistling.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is cold, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack a 10ft cone.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Aura of Ice

Starting at 6th level, you gain resistance to cold damage and you can spend 2 ki points as a reaction to surround yourself in a 10ft icy aura for 1 minute. You can spend additional ki points doubling the duration for each ki point spent (ex. 2 ki is 1 minute. 3 ki is 2 minutes. 4 ki is 4 minutes 5 ki is 8 minutes etc.). The aura follows you wherever you go and is considered difficult terrain for others. Small fires such as torches and campfires are extinguished if they enter your aura and any fire damage that occurs within your aura is halved.

Additionally, if you hit with an unarmed attack you can spend 3 ki points and as a bonus action, send out a wave of ice in a 15ft cone. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 3d6 cold damage on a failure or half as much on a success.

Sword of Ice

When you reach 11th level, you can spend 3 ki points as a bonus action to coat one of your hands in ice creating a sword. While wielding this sword your unarmed attacks deal 2d8 piercing and 1d8 cold damage instead. This weapon is considered a monk weapon. This effect lasts for 1 minute. You can dismiss it at any time as a free action.

Fist of the Ice Dragun

Starting at 17th level, you have mastered the greatest techniques of your tradition. Your unarmed attacks and cold damage ignores resistances and you become immune to cold damage. Additionally, when you hit with an unarmed strike you can spend 5 ki points and cause a serpent ice dragon to erupt from your hand attacking each creature in a 90ft line 10ft wide. Each creature must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 7d8 cold damage half on a success. Additionally, on a failure the creature begins to turn to ice and is Restrained. It must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn. On a success, the effect ends. On a failure, the creature is Petrified for 24 hours.
