Power Armor

Power Armor

Power armor is the peak of armored infantry technology, initially developed in the West Tek Research Facility laboratories. Now, only the most technologically advanced factions with ties to pre-War military or government, such as the Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave, have access to them, and only the latter possesses the technology required to manufacture new power armor models, such as the advanced power armor Mk II

Power armor is a multi-component armor unit, compromised of a base frame, with assorted armor pieces mounted on it. For power armor to function it requires a fusion core as a source of power, which drains over time; actions that consume AP will increase the rate of depletion. Once depleted, the unit will still be operable, but movement is heavily restricted as it is a dead weight.

Using Power Armor Requires a Piloting Skill of at least 25. It takes an action to get in and out of Power Armor.

Power Armor increases your carry capacity by 50.

Fusion Core

Fusion cores are used to power and activate suits of power armor. Each core provides 72 hours of power to power armor when jogging (default pace). Actions based on Action Points (AP) usage, such as holding breath when using scoped weapons, sprinting, utilizing V.A.T.S., or Jetpack modules causes the power to drain much faster.

The Gatling laser utilizes fusion cores as its ammunition, each core providing 500 shots. Nuclear Physicist can increase the amount of shots per core up to 1000, but the magazine capacity will remain at 500.

Hit Points

When you take damage while wearing power armor an equal amount of damage is done to the power armor. If a piece of power armor is reduced to 0 hit points it is destroyed. You can repair a piece of power armor for its repair cost returning its hit points back to full.
